July, 2026 - IES Halifax Section is excited to welcome our 2026 Term Section Officers, congratulations to the newly elected section leadership team!
The Section Officers will work closely with our local section Advisory Board Members to plan for our upcoming events in the region. We look forward to another exciting year ahead with our new leadership.

April, 2026 - Aminul Islam, MSc, P.Eng. has been appointed District 1 Chair of the Illuminating Engineering Society (IES). The IES has been an industry-backed, non-profit, technical lighting authority for more than a century. In his new role, Aminul will help strengthen IES's presence in the industry, increase membership, expand the range of technical activities and grow the organization's social footprint throughout Eastern Canada.
This appointment testifies to Aminul's recognized leadership and expertise within the lighting community. It also illustrates the importance we place on professional outreach, knowledge sharing and the development of practices in our industry.
