Timeline: 2011-2012
As the Plant Engineer-Operations at Max Power Ltd. in Ghorashal, Narsingdi, Bangladesh, I was primarily responsible for the day-to-day operations and supervisory control of the 78.5 MW gas-turbine based power plant through a SCADA platform.
In this role, I coordinated with the maintenance team for scheduled maintenance and development works. I have performed regular safety inspections on 4 x GE TM2500 aero-derivative gas turbine (Trailer Mounted) gen-sets, ancillary switchgear equipment, 100/133MVA power transformer, and a 11/230KVA grid-tied substation.
I also worked closely with the management team at the headquarters in Dhaka. I reported on daily power generation, weekly forecast, performance monitoring and liaised with various government organizations, partners, stakeholders and local contractors. During my regular duty, I constantly liaised with key government authorities, like National Load Dispatch Center (NLDC) and Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB) for the smooth operation of the generating plant.
Timeline: 2010
My first professional assignment was back in 2010, with Summit Power Ltd. at their 33MW Rupganj Power Plant in Narayanganj, Bangladesh. I worked as a Trainee Engineer, and performed regular operational procedures on 4 x Wartsila W20V34SG, natural-gas-fired gensets, using a SCADA interface. I have contributed in reporting daily power generation, and performed regular safety inspections under the supervision of senior engineers. It was a great opportunity to have hands-on-experience on the gensets, protective switchgears and the grid-tied substation.
